2012 camps: A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Hamlet Part 1.
This summer, we will be hosting two camps for ages 9 through 17. If you are not sure which level camp is right for your child: E-mail us.
Camp 1: an introductory level camp that will run from July 9 to July 21 and will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream .
Camp 2: an advanced level camp that will run from July 30 to August 11 and will perform Hamlet Part 1.
We start by cold reading the play on day one. Actors usually receive their roles on day three. Then we spend days three through eight on intensive scene work (rehearsals) before bringing the show to the Plainfield Town Hall (or suitable substitute) for all day rehearsal and first performance on Day 10 (the final Friday) and the final performance on Day 11 (the final Saturday @ 2 PM). Camp days start at 10:00 AM at the Design Center Building at Goddard College, Plainfield, VT. We perform on the last weekend; camp is not in session Saturday and Sunday between weeks.
Campers provide their own lunches and snacks. Parents get to know each other and tend work out a lot of car-pooling.
